(Cal Fire has updated the Tusil Fire)....The fire had started Tuesday afternoon.
It was on Tusil Road on the Campo Reservation. Thursday afternoon, Cal Fire released an update on the fire. They said the Tusil Fire was 90% contained, after burning 820 acres of brush in the mountains near Interstate 8 in the Campo area. The officials said all evacuation warnings had been lifted and roads were now open. The fire had destroyed one structure, but no injuries were reported. A total of 191 firefighters help combat the fire. Crews are currently working to prevent any flare ups before the fire is declared 100% contained. They were able to stop the blaze from advancing any further than 820 acres Thursday afternoon. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
