(This week the Calipatria City Council agreed to pursue a moratorium)....It would be a 5 year moratorium on any large scale data center development.

The Council voted unanimously to pursue the moratorium. The 5 year moratorium would be on the approval, permitting and construction or expansion of large-scale data center facilities within the city of Calipatria. It would be the first community moratorium dealing with the data center issue. The issue has resulted in legal action between the County and City of Imperial, and recall petitions filed against two county supervisors.
