Federal, state and local leaders gathered for a discussion on the New River.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 leaders, Imperial Valley stakeholders and Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz met Monday to find ways to advance solutions to the polluted New River. According to the Congressman's press release, as soon as the International Boundary and Water Commission binational water quality study summary is made public in June 2026, federal and binational partners will negotiate action items based on the findings.
