(The 34th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive)...It is coming up this Saturday.
It is a National Association of Letter Carriers event. Residents leave non-perishable food item at their mailboxes. The letter carrier picks up the food item when they deliver the mail. It is that easy. Over its more than 30-year history, the drive has collected more than 1.94 billion pounds of food nationwide, including Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgen Islands, according to the postal service. Collected food items will be distributed to local food pantries.
