The El Centro City Council meets Tuesday.

The meeting will start with Closed Session at 3:30 p.m. The closed session agenda includes conferences with labor negotiators and various employee associations. Open Session is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.in Council Chambers at City Hall. The council is expected to approve proclamations declaring International Firefighters Day on May 4, 2026, and National Police Officers Week- May 10 - 16. Tyler Brinkerhoff will make a presentation regarding Lithium Valley and San Diego State University - Imperial Valley Dean, Dr. Guillermina Gina Nunez-Mchiri will address the council. The council will also discuss and possibly take action on the signage wording of the Clean California " Embellece " Downtown Beautification Project.
