An arrest has been made after the developer of the proposed Imperial Data Center was threatened.

Imperial County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division received a report of a threatening message posted to a local Facebook page. The post was made from an anonymous account and contained explicit threats against the developer. The developer told deputies that he was in fear of his safety. ICSO investigators, with help from the Facebook group members, were able to identify the individual responsible for the threats. On Thursday, April 16, the suspect, Diego Joe, was located near the El Centro Public Library. He was detained and taken to the Sheriff's Office to be interviewed. He was then arrested and charged with Criminal Threats. He was booked into Imperial County Jail and is being held on $20,000 bail. The case has been forwarded to the Imperial County District Attorney's Office for review and prosecution.
