Two Imperial Valley cities will receive checks from the feds Tuesday.

At 11:00 a.m. Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz will present the City of Holtville a check for $2 million for the Holtville Public Safety Building. The funds are from the Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding program. The new facility, a project nearly 30 years in the making, will house the Holtville fire and public safety facilities. The check presentation will be at 11:00 a.m. at 121 S. 5th Street in Holtville.

Dr. Ruiz will present the City of Imperial a check for $1.5 million in Federal Community Project Funding program. The money will help fund a regional community park that will include multi-use trails, basketball courts, a botanical garden, amphitheater, and playground facilities. The presentation will be made at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the future park on La Brucherie Road.
