(IID Celebrates Substation upgrade)...The celebration was held recently.

It was to celebrate the completion of one of the Imperial Irrigation Districts latest power infrastructure projects, upgrading a major substation to serve increasing power needs in Calexico. The IID's $4.9 million Gateway subway expansion, located in an industrial park just east of the US Customs and Border Patrol's East Port of Entry, has been upgraded to deliver enough power to energize approximately 4,000 more residential homes.
