Get ready for some changes in the weather.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a strong weather system will arrive Monday. This should bring rain chances, breezy to windy conditions, and noticeably cooler temperatures. Another weather system on Wednesday will bring additional windy conditions and rain chances. A third, drier system, will move through Thursday into Friday and that will keep temperatures cooler through the end of the week. Daytime temperatures will range from the mid-60's to lower 70's.
To the west of the Imperial Valley there is a Winter Storm Watch for the mountains starting Monday. Snow levels are likely to fall from 6,000 feet on Monday to 4,500 by Tuesday night. The National Weather Service says snow may be heavy especially Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. There should be quite a bit of rain at lower elevations through Wednesday.
