The City of El Centro has a new Mayor.

On Tuesday night the council selected Mike Crankshaw to serve as Mayor for 2026. Claudia Camerena was elected as Mayor Pro tem. Both were elected with 4 yes votes with outgoing Mayor Sonia Carter abstaining. The reorganization had been postponed several times over the past month.
