(The Office of Traffic Safety awards a grant)....The $226,500 grant went to the Imperial County District Attorney's Office.

The D.A.s Office says the grant will go to support a specialized prosecution team that handles alcohol and drug impaired driving cases. The grant program runs through September 2026. The team will also partner with the statewide Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Training Program to train other prosecutors and investigators and collaborate with law enforcement agencies on best practice for handling and managing driving under the influence cases. This is the third year the Imperial County D.A.s Office has received funding for this specialized program. Last year the team filed 770 DUI case, including 64 DUI drug cases and 16 DUI combined alcohol and drug cases.
