(California Highway Patrol Holiday enforcement)....The CHP goes into their Maximum Enforcement Period Wednesday night.
Maximum Enforcement is the Holiday enforcement. They schedule as many officers as possible to patrol the roadways. They will be looking for all traffic violations, but this year they will be especially vigilant looking for speeders. Last year during the CHP 30 hour holiday enforcement period, they issued 2,251 speeding tickets, including 132 to motorists going over 100 miles per hour. Also during that period, the Highway Patrol arrested over 300 impaired drivers. This year the Highway Patrol goes into their Maximum Enforcement at 6:01 Wednesday evening. The MEP will end at 11:59 Sunday night, December 28th.
