(The California Office of Traffic Safety awards a grant)...It was awarded to the El Centro Police Department.

The funds are to support the on-going enforcement and education programs designed to reuce the number of serious injuries and deaths on the roads. The grant program runs through September 2026. The grant provides for additional program and resources for DUI Checkpoints, enforcement operations for distracted drivers,, and a focus on the top violations that cause crashes, such as speeding, failure to yield, stop sign and or red light running and improper turning.. There will be community presentations as well as increased enforcement.
