(Imperial Irrigation District held a workshop this week).....The workshop provided general information on Data Centers.

They covered information on what a Data Center was, how it worked etc. It was in response to community concerns surrounding a Data Center being proposed for Imperial County. A Data Center is going through the county permit process to possibly construct a Data Center on County land South of the City of Imperial off Aten and Clarke Roads. Wednesday the IID issued a statement following the well-attended workshop. The District says they support economic development that strengthens the region, creates jobs, and respects the shared resources. But, they say development must be technically feasable, transparent and aligned with the district's reposibility to protect ratepayers from undue risks. They said their due diligence was not a barrier, but a safeguard. They said that they owe that to every customer they serve.
