(Executive Director of the Salton Sea Authority comments on recent IID action)..... The Imperial Irrigation District recently voted to end its formal relationship with the Salton Sea Authority.

That action takes effect on June 30, 2026. G. Patrick O'Dowd says the action does not change the mission of work of the Authority. He says the Authority has and will continue to lead efforts to ensure the protection of the Salton Sea and the local communities they represent, including advocating and securing federal and state resources to that end. He said the Authority looks forward to working with the Imperial Irrigation District and assisting the Salton Sea Conservancy as it undertakes its distinct charge of owning, operating and maintaining projects completed under the Salton Sea Management Program
