The Imperial Irrigation District will hold a public workshop to discuss the district's role in regard to data centers.

A data center development has been proposed for a site at Aten Boulevard and Clark Road, just outside the City of Imperial boundary. The proposed development is going through the permitting process with the County of Imperial. Both the City of Imperial and the IID have said that they need more information on the planned 950,000 square foot development. The IID will host a public workshop to discuss the district's role in regard to the data center and how they would interconnect to the IID power system, the electrical infrastructure required to support new load, and how the IID plans to maintain reliable service for its customers. The Public Workshop will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the IID Board Room on Broadway in El Centro. It is open to the public.
