The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of San Diego and Imperial Counties is launching two civic engagement campaigns to educate the public on how to engage with local elected representatives.

The multi-media campaigns, Meet Your School Board member and Meet your Board of Supervisors, are aimed at empowering residents to advocate for change on a local level. Each campaign includes a website page, social media videos, graphic explainers and a comprehensive toolkit explaining each governing body, the powers they hold and issues they can impact. According to the ACLU, civic engagement is more than voting, it's being involved in local government by attending meetings and ensuring elected officials know what is important to you.
