(The Imperial Irrigation District is preparing for a quick response)... The district says an intense storm system is poised to bring heavy rain, strong winds and possible thunderstorms as an atmospheric river sweeps through Southern California.

The IID says they are taking proactive steps to ensure personnel and equipment are ready to respond to any impacts to energy and water. The district is reassuring customers that crews are on stand-by and will be dispatched as soon as conditions are safe for them to work. To complete the rapid response, customers should be prepared to report outages and storm damage as soon as possible. They should also have emergency supplies on hand, including flashlights, battery operated radios and lights. Phones should be charged, as well.
