Look for a major change in Imperial Valley weather this week.
The National Weather Service is forecasting rain to start Thursday evening and continue through Sunday night. It appears a strong system is expected to arrive over the Imperial and Yuma Valleys and that will bring breezy conditions and widespread rainfall. As a side benefit, temperatures are expected cool to well below normal this weekend. Thursday night will see a 10% chance of showers and then going to 30% on Friday, 70% on Friday night and continuing through Sunday evening. There could even be a thunderstorm or two in the mix. The high temperature on Friday should be near 70 with overnight lows in the 50's.
