(Pine Elementary School in Holtville).....It has been recognized as a 2025 California Blue Ribbon School.

That is an honor that celebrates schools for exceptional academic success and effectiveness in closing achievement gaps. Pine is one of only 31 schools across the state to receive this new, one-time distinction. The award comes in the wake of the abrupt cancellation of the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, by the US Department of Education. California Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond announced the establishment of the California Blue Ribbon School program to ensure that the hard work of schools nominated for the national award would not go unrecognized.
