(City Council appoints a permanent City Manager)....It happened at this week's El Centro City Council meeting.

The Council voted 4-0 to name Robert Sawyer the full-time City Manager. Councilman Michael Crankshaw did not attend the meeting. Sawyer said he was honored to continue serving the residents of El Centro. He brings 25 years of experience in local government and public safety to the position. He began his career with the El Centro Police Department in 1998 and worked his way through the ranks before being appointed Chief of Police in 2022. During his time as Acting City Manager, Sawyer worked closely with city departments to strengthen operations, ensure continuity, and maintain a high standard of services to residents.
