(Community Action Day is November 1st)....The Imperial Irrigation District, City of Calexico and a coalition of state and local partners have a project.
They are inviting community members to take part to help enhance the New River wetlands. On Community Action Day they are planning to plant hundreds of native trees and provide revegetation, which will improve water quality and mitigate erosion by adding about 1600 iodine bush and mesquite trees along the New River Improvement Project. They are asking for volunteers to be part of the special community action day, The day will begin at 7:30 am along Animal Shelter Drive in Calexico. There will be refreshments and a free lunch.
