A traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and guns.

Imperial County Sheriff's deputies assigned to the Winterhaven Sub-Station stopped a car driving on the wrong side of the road at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies engaged in conversation with the four occupants of the car. Deputies noticed abnormal behavior from the occupants and asked them to step out of the car. During a pat-down for weapons on the driver, deputies discovered a loaded firearm in his possession. Further investigation found a passenger with a loaded firearm and methamphetamine. A search of the car led to the discovery of a third loaded gun and more methamphetamine. A criminal check found one of the occupants is a convicted felon with prior weapons offenses. Two of the car's occupants were booked into Imperial County Jail for weapons and drug offenses while the other two were issued citations for weapon related offenses.
