The Imperial County Sheriff's Office says they have more information on the deaths of two men in Winterhaven.

The ICSO's Investigations Unit, along with the Scientific Investigations Unit and Coroner's Office, has determined that the deaths of the two men Friday was an apparent murder-suicide. Deputies were dispatched to a home in Winterhaven at about 6:30 p.m. Friday. They were able to locate two men, both dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The bodies of the two men, brothers Matthew Vargas, 19, and Jonathan Vargas, 23, were found at the residence by their father. At the scene deputies located a firearm and spent shell casings. Preliminary findings suggest it was murder-suicide. Autopsy and forensic testing are pending to determine the official cause and manner of death. The investigation remains open according to the Sheriff's Office.
