(16 year old caught smuggling meth)....San Diego Sector Border Patrol says the incident happened August 30th.

The San Diego Sector covers San Diego and Imperial Counties. The Border Patrol says surveillance cameras record a suspicious person in a remote area, a few hundred yards north of the International Boundary fence. The subject was observed carrying two duffle bags. When agents arrived at the scene, they found a 16 year old boy.. He told agents he was hiking in the area. The duffle bags were nowhere to be seen. A Border Patrol K-9 Unit responded to the area and were able to find the duffle bags hidden nearby. The duffle bags were full of plastic bottles containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The meth weighed a total of over 26 pounds with a street value of more than $32,000. The narcotics and teen were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
