(July Unemployment numbers released).....July numbers are the latest available.

Imperial County unemployment in July came in at 20.2%, up from a revised 19 percent reported in June. The numbers were released by Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. The 20.2 percent unemployment was up from the 19.8% recorded a year ago. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 6.1% for California and 4.6% for the nation during the same period. During the month of July there were 14,800 eligible employees unemployed out of a labor force of 73,200 in Imperial County. Imperial County again recorded the highest unemployment rate in the state.
