A brush fire is burning near Boulevard.

Named the Runner Fire, the blaze was reported at about 11:23 a.m. Friday just north of Interstate 8 in eastern San Diego County. As of early Friday afternoon, the fire had burned over 88 acres and was reported to be 5% contained. Evacuation orders were issued for several nearby areas. CalFire crews are working the fire.
