(City of El Centro has a new award)....It is the Quiet Servant Award.
The city announced the launch of their new recognition program. The Quiet Servant Award honors two individuals, one City of El Centro resident. The other a city employee. The nominees are people who's behind the scenes efforts make a lasting impact on the community. El Centro Mayor Sonia Carter says they want to honor the people who serve without seeking recognition, those who do the right thing, because it is right. She said the Quiet Servant Award is about shining a light on those who lift others up without expecting anything in return. Nominations are open now through 5 pm September 1. Each nomination must include a written description of 500 words or less highlighting how the individual embodies the spirit of a Quiet Servant.
