The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Imperial Valley.

Above normal temperatures will prevail through midweek and then hit as high as 118 on Thursday before dropping back down into the weekend. The Imperial County Public Health Department is urging residents to be careful in the heat, stay hydrated, and head to designated cooling centers if necessary. The Imperial Irrigation District is asking customers to conserve electricity, especially during the peak demand hours of 4 - 9 p.m.
