U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) San Diego Field Office officers were busy during the month of June.
Drug interdictions across the border ports of entry and cargo facilities total nearly 9,000 pounds of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and fentanyl. Street value of the drugs exceeded $19.9 million. At the Calexico West Port of Entry, 265 pounds of methamphetamine was found hidden in the floor, doors and gas tank of a car. At the Tecate Cargo Facility, CBP officers uncovered 766 pounds of methamphetamine stashed in the roof of a tractor-trailer. The San Diego Field Office stretches from San Diego to the Arizona border.
