(The Monte Fire has been burning since Tuesday)... Cal Fire released an update on the fire burning near Lakeside.

The Thursday update indicates the blaze has burned over 1,049 acres. Officials say the fire is 35% contained. Evacuations are in place and evacuation warnings have been issued. There are two Animal Evacuation Shelters in place. The fire has slowed in progress but is still burning in risky terrain. Three fire fighters have been injured. No structures are threatened at this time.
