The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a warning about a Salmonella outbreak linked to eggs.
According to the CDC, 79 people have gotten sick with the same strain of Salmonella that has been to eggs sold in seven states. The eggs were sold in California at various markets including Walmart, Smart & Final and Food 4 Less. The recalled eggs will have plant code numbers P-6562 or CA5330 printed on the carton or package. There will See By dates of March 4 to June 19.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, the frail and the elderly. The eggs are from August Egg Company and are packaged under various labels. A list of all brands affected is available at the CDC website. CDC says, do not eat any of the eggs, throw them away or return them to where you bought them.
