(A House fire was reported Sunday)...The fire was at Mesquite and Fifth Street.

When Holtville Fire arrived, they called in mutual aid and began evacuating the neighbors. The homeowner was attempting to extinguish the fire himself, but it grew faster than he expected. The owner suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical aide. Crews were not able to save the home, but they did prevent the fire from spreading. Officials say they believe the fire began in the car port. The homeowner was charging a motorcycle, and the charger apparently shorted out.
