(February unemployment report)....February are the latest numbers available.

The report was provided by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. Imperial Counties February unemployment was at 17.2 percent. That is down from a revised 18 % reported in January, and unchanged for the year ago estimate. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.5% for California and 4.5% for the nation during the same period. According to the report there were 12,500 eligible workers unemployed in February out of an Imperial County Labor Force of 73,000 Colusa County recorded the highest unemployment rate in the state for February at 18.5%.
