El Centro Police seized a handgun from a convicted felon.
Officers responded to the area of 4th and Olive early Friday morning after a report of a suspicious subject with a handgun. The suspect was located in the area of Main Street and the Railroad tracks and told to comply with officers' commands and surrender. According to police, the suspect continued to display aggressive behavior and refused to comply with the commands. Non-lethal force was deployed, and the suspect was detained. A loaded Glock-style ghost gun with several loaded high-capacity magazines were located. The suspect, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail on several charges.
