An 18-year-old is dead following a shooting in Brawley.

At 2:18 a.m. Sunday, Brawley Police received a 911 call about a shooting in the 600 block of South 17th Street. Arriving officers found an 18-year-old male, a resident of Brawley, with a gunshot wound. Life-saving efforts were made at the scene, but the victim succumbed to his injuries. The Brawley Investigations Team is investigating the shooting along with the Imperial County Sheriff's Office Scientific Investigations Unit. Brawley police are asking that anyone with any information about the shooting contact the department.
