Two loads of methamphetamine were seized Saturday.
U. S. Border Patrol agents nabbed the two loads of drugs in one hour. The first seizure occurred at about 3:20 p.m. Saturday on westbound Interstate 8 near the Buckman Springs exit. Border Patrol agents stopped a blue minivan and, during the stop, requested a K-9 detection team. The dog alerted to the minivan and agents located nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine hidden vehicle. The drugs and the driver were turned over to the San Diego Sheriff's Office for further investigation.
Less than an hour later, Border Patrol agents stopped a westbound car on Interstate 8 near the Buckman Springs exit. A woman with her two minor children were in the vehicle. A K-9 detection alerted to the car and a search led to the discovery of over 83 pounds of meth hidden throughout the car. The 22-year-old woman driving the car was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Her children were released to family members.
