Over 1,000 Imperial residents lost power last night.

According to the Imperial irrigation District, troubleshooters were called out Thursday night when the power outage was reported. The District said that the power outage was caused by mylar balloon contact with IID equipment and tripping breakers. The outage lasted over an hour. The Imperial Irrigation District again reminded Valley residents that releasing mylar balloons can create expensive damage to IID equipment and homeowners and businesses.
