It was not a good night for Imperial Valley High School football teams. Four teams travelled to San Diego for playoff games and all four lost.

The Brawley Wildcats went for the win with a two-point conversion attempt and came up a bit short. as the Rancho Bernardo Broncos held on to a 28 - 27 victory. 

In Division 2, the Imperial Tigers lost to the Christian High Patriots 28 - 26. The Tigers fought back but also came up short on what would have been a game tying two-point conversion. 

In Division 4, The Vincent Memorial Catholic High School Scots lost 23 - 12 to Westview and Calexico lost to the Montgomery Aztecs 33 - 6. 

Playoff action begins Friday for three other Valley teams. All will have home games following last weeks bye.

The Central Spartans will meet Patrick Henry High School. The Patriots advanced into the second round by beating Otay Ranch. 

The Holtville Vikings will host the Saints from St. Augustine High School. The Saints won their first game of the year when the beat La Jolla Country Day.

The Calipatria Hornets will host Maranatha Christian High School. Maranatha defeated Victory Christian to advance in the Division 5AA semi-finals.

The Central Spartans game will be broadcast on KXO AM1230 and on the KXO You Tube channel.
