The imperial County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday and took several symbolic actions.

The Supervisors honored the late Antonio "Tony" Tirado for his years of service to the City of Calexico and Imperial County. Tirado served on the Calexico City Council and also on the County Board of Supervisors. The Board also recognized Benjamin Gonzales for his outstanding efforts to empower and inspire young people in the community. According to the Board proclamation, His dedication and commitment have made a lasting impact, fostering leadership and opportunity for the next generation. 

The Board proclaimed November as "National Adoption Month", honoring adoptive families and all who support children in finding permanent, loving homes. 

November is also "Caregiver Appreciation Month" according to another Board proclamation. The proclamation recognizes the vital role caregivers play in supporting their families and communities. The proclamation highlights the dedication, compassion, and sacrifices made by caregivers, while also promoting the resources available to support them in their essential work.
