The City of El Centro will present an updated budget at a Special Meeting Wednesday.
The City had contracted with financial consultant Andy Heath to focus on updating the city's financial structure. His evaluation focused on the city's expenditures and revenue streams, identifying areas of improvement that could bolster the city's budget. Heath's evaluations of the Preliminary Budget adopted for Fiscal Year 2024-2025, has identified an estimated surplus of $150,000. The Preliminary Budget had shown an anticipated shortfall of nearly $1.8 million, which would have been covered by the City's Reserve Fund.
The City Council will meet at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday to review and adopt the amended policies and updated budget.
