The Brawley Police Department will operate a DUI/ Driver's License Checkpoint Friday.

The checkpoint will be in operation 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. in the 900 block of Main Street. According to Brawley police, the checkpoint is located based on information showing incidents of impaired driving-related incidents. Funding for the program is provided by a grant from the California Highway patrol Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program. According to Sgt. Guiterrez of the Brawley Police Department, " Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk. Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety".
