(Early Morning collision causes major damage)...The Imperial Irrigation District has been working since the early morning hours.

They say a vehicle collided with a power pole at 2:20 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Brighten and Dogwood in El Centro. The collision caused serious damage to 10 power poles.The damage knocked out the power to almost 800 IID customers. Crews have been working feverishly to restore the power. Most of the customers have had their power restored. The District says they expect crews to be working to repair the damage into Wednesday. They are asking motorists to avoid the intersection of Brighten and Dogwood until further notice. At last report, only 55 customers remained without power.
