A Mexicali man was arrested Thursday on a variety of charges including rape.

Enrique Harim Mota, 32, is accused of rape, sexual battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment , burglary, robbery, threatening a crime with the intent to terrorize and several other charges. Calexico Police say that Mota forced his way into his ex-girlfriends home in the 1200 block of T. Boman Street Thursday morning and sexually assaulted her. Mota then crossed into Mexicali but was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers when he crossed back to the United States shortly after 4:00 p.m. Mota was then arrested by Calexico Police and booked into Imperial County Jail. Bail is set at $1 million.
