(The signal lights at Highway 86 and Aten Road)....On June 1st one of the poles was taken out by a turning semi.

The incident pulled the pole from its base. The incident damaged the physical and electrical infrastructure to the intersection. Parts for repairs had to be ordered. Crews set the signal lights to flashing red. They said it may take awhile until the needed parts arrived. During a special meeting June 12th, the Imperial City Council declared the intersection an emergency to expedite repairs. A temporary signal light was obtained. Installation began Tuesday, with a concrete barrier installed to protect the mobile device. The temporary set-up will be in place until the ordered parts arrive.
